For regulars, we have a personalised FREE email address available
(the format is "nickname at pickledpedallers.co.nz").
Talk to BigPete or Coach about how to get one set up for you.
When this has been done, you can use the instructions below to help set the account up on your PC at home.
The instructions below are based on the setup for Microsoft Outlook 2003, but the many versions of Outlook have been fairly similar over the years and the same fields are required (includes Outlook and Outlook Express).
Coach is happy to help out if you have a different email client, or have difficulties with the setup.
With Outlook open, go to Tools>Email Accounts:
Use either "Add new.." or "View or change..." ... Press <Next>:
Select "POP3" and press <Next>:
Enter details as above (substituting your actual Pickled Pedallers name for "name"). Note: make sure you enter "mail" instead of the more common "pop3" in the "Incoming mail server (POP3)" field. Enter your ISP name where the screenshot above displays "yourisp" in the "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)". Click on <More Settings...>:
Under the General tab, you can change the mail account name to something a bit "friendlier".
On the Outgoing Server tab, you will need to tick the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" checkbox and enter your log on details. These are the same credentials you use to log onto your ISP for your non-Pickled Pedallers email account. Nothing should need twiddling with on the other tabs. Press <OK>.
This will return you to the main account setup window. You will see a button there named <Test Account Settings>. Make sure you are connected to the Interweb and click on the button. You should receive a test email in your Inbox shortly.
