Damian recently met a chap named Roy Sinclair while riding the Otago Rail Trail. Seems Roy is about to be published (for the 12th time I understand!).
The book is called "Pedal Power" and should be on sale in all bookshops from October 5, 2007.
Cover image below. The main image is La Menji above Col du Lautaret (2057m) which he crossed in the wake of the 2007 Tour de France.
Looks like it could be an interesting read...
Lance Armstrong's story is extraordinary and inspirational.
He was one of the most precocious talents the world of cycling had ever seen and was on his way to becoming a cycling legend, when in October 1996, he was diagnosed with stage four testicular cancer. When lesions then appeared on his brain and in his lungs the doctors gave him 40% chance of survival.
Against all the odds Armstrong responded to the treatment and in February 1997 he was discharged.
Follow up to 'It's not about the bike' Armstrong shares more details of his extraordinary life story, including a record equalling four more Tour De France wins.
Again, an excellent read - more about the racing. And again, inspirational!
Very hard to put down - if you want to borrow it, ask Coach (so long as you give it back!!!).
